.... If King Jesus descends on our turf with an entourage fit for the King of Kings, I think a good number of us would be dumbly STARTLED. Taking our dumbness to Himalayan levels we'll think two things...."So, all this was really true, huh!!" ..and when we realise that there was no escaping this reality, the second thought would be "Did it have to be so soon? I was still in my City of Dreams planning to WAKE UP!!"
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them to the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."
-Paul's first epistle to the Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NIV)

A Sunday morning beamer.....
..... when God calls us up....before his everlasting throne, he would ask us two things (he has all the possible reasons to!!)---
1. What did you do with my son Jesus?
2. What did you do with all the resources (talents, money, comforts etc.) that I gave you?
Be careful when you answer..it may affect your eternity!!
***********
Today was a day of challenges...when you put down the impossibilities in numeric terms...the numbers may initially be startling..but the greater the distance, the sweeter would be the rest and the reminisces, not to mention the victory of going the distance.
"I said, "I have worked, but how hopeless it is! I have used up my strength but have accomplished nothing." Yet I can trust the Lord to defend my cause; he will reward me for what I do."
-The Book of Isaiah 49:4 (GNB)
The second post after the first post....and I'm loving it. When there's a blank screen in front of you and an equally blank blog before you, you are forced to dig deep and you would be startled by what lies beneath. Seriously...

Lifesong
Casting Crowns playing at the background is striking a chord somewhere "Let my lifesong sing to you!" Only if it had been as easy as singing a song.
A mixed day. Nothing much to look forward to. I see a few weeks of similar monotony....A nice chat, a boisterous sister, exuberant guests made the bulk of the the day. Two weeks of hard labour-my beard is under threat of annihilation!!! No point in resisting ...would have to GIVE IN...:)
Blog seems to be deserted...the last entry was on October 6. Thought of writing my mind. The problem of sharing LIFE is that it needs a message. Do not strain...you have heard it before...had Gandhi been alive...he would have been an avid blogger. Nothing like a public notebook to make your "My life is my Message" ideals known to the world. It's quite a deal to have a life worth emulating...
A second dilemma is the loss of that comfort of oblivion that one so zealously guards. Nobody knows, nobody hears, nobody sees and you feel your life is your own and private. But then, anything for Christ....
So I think I'll be here often to share and explore my mundane. I hope many in the course would sing that lifesong with me. If only......

Forgiveness is a lot harder than it seems or is made out to be...
Peter came to Jesus and asked" lord, how many times should i forgive my brother when he sins against me ? Up to seven times? Jesus answered " I tell you not seven times ,but seventy times seven...". In the next following verses the Bible says " the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servats . As he began his settlement , a man who owned him ten thousand talents was brought to him. Since he was unable to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had b sold to repay the debt. The servant fell on his knees before him,"be patient with me" he begged and i ll pay back everything.'The servants master had pity on him ,cancelled the debtand, let him go. But when the servant went out he found one of his fellow servants who owned him one hundred dinarii..he grabbed him and began to choke him..he begged ..fell on his knees but couldn't be pardoned.. when the news reached the ears of the master ..he called the servant in 'you wicked servant ' he said ' I cancelled all the debts of yours because you begged me to . shouldn't you have had mercy on your servant just as i had on you? in anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured ,until he should pay back all he owed.

The Blood of Jesus
She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
The young woman had a very rough past, involving alcohol, drugs, and prostitution.
But, the change in her was evident. As time went on she became a faithful member of the church.
She eventually became involved in the ministry, teaching young children.
It was not very long until this faithful young woman had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son.
The relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans.
This is when the problems began.
You see, about one half of the church did not think that a woman with a past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son. The church began to argue and fight about the matter. So they decided to have a meeting.
As the people made their arguments and tensions increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand. The young woman became very upset about all the things being brought up about her past.
As she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak. He could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be. He began to speak and his statement was this:
"My fiance's past is not what is on trial here. What you are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. So, does it wash away sin or not?"
The whole church began to weep as they realized that they had been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters.
Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person completely then it cannot cleanse us completely.
If that is the case, then we are all in a lot of trouble. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! End of case!!!!
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:23

Havent we ever seen a child looking up to his father when he needs help? Its is so simple , so natural , and yet so beautiful picture of this seemingly 'esoteric' substance we call as faith.
Sometimes we concentrate or focous so much on faith itself...that we tend to complicate matters for ourselves and forget that its not the size of our faith ,but Who we trust in that truly matters...
Isnt that why Jesus told us that even the tiniest amount of faith can move mountains( Luke 17:6)? For at the end of the day,its not the size of our faith , but the almighty power of the One we put our trust in that causes miracles and wonders to come to pass in our lives.
What is our problem today??
Is it sickness?Look to Jesus ! For He willingly suffered tortorous strikes after strikes so we can confidentally declare " By His stripes, I am healed"
Is it something we have been desiring for so long now? Look to Jesus! For He is our good Shepherd, and He has promised to always provide for us.
Is it our financial lack? Look to Jesus! He is the richest ...the King of kings
Is it a temperory problem in our families? Look to Jesus! For His word says..He will extend his salvation to both you and your household(Acts 16:31)
Whatever it is that we lack..whatever it is that we need ..our Lord had already forseen it and purchased it on the Cross for us.
When Peter got distracted by the boisterous winds and waves around him and began to sink( right after he miraculously walked on water from simply trusting Jesus' words), he did the exact same thing. Again he looked upto Jesus for help....n what did Jesus do..? At his first cry for help..Jesus reached out and saved him !
The good news is He 's exactly the same today! Ever willing to reach into our lives and deliver us... Jesus has never dissapointed anyone who looked to Him for help...
Godbless:)

HISTORY MAKER
The man of God(Dr Paul Yonggi Chow)was in the initial stages of his ministry. He was called for a "7 day crusade" which was organised by a church who(like us) were ready to "experiment" with a "new" preacher. Day 1 was really horrible as the people who attended it played cards, taunted, laughed and scorned while he preached the word. He lacked boldness and Holy Spirit in his preaching and life. The power of god wasn't there in the meeting and he was on the verge of "spiritual" depression. As attendance was low in the 1st day he even doubted if he had been called by the lord. So late in the night he was in his room(tent because it was an open air meeting)praying desperately to god why had he called him into ministry. While he was praying a man came to his tent, his both legs were broken and came to be healed through Paul Yonggi cho(who was literally in a similar condition ie spiritual paralysis). On seeing the faith of the sick man he prayed for hours but nothing happend. He went back to the corner of his tent and cried to the lord because of his and the sick man's condition. Meanwhile two robbers had come to the ground(ground occupied for the crusade) to steal something(they dont know what it was but had come anyway)
Suddenly God filled him with his Spirit while he was praying and he went to that sick man and said "stand up and be healed in the name of jesus". The man was really afraid(oh my goodness why the hell i came there) and couldnt help himself to stand. Yonggi Chow stood upn the sick man's knees and started praying.Suddenly the robbers came that way the pastor commanded"hey you there!!,yes both of you, come and help this man in the nmae of Jesus". The robbers obeyed and helped him get up.The sick man overheard the breaking of his bones when he was trying to stand up and yelled"help this man is killing me". God touched him and he got healed hallelujah!!. That man gave his life to jesus along with that two robbers who later became assistant pastors of yonggi cho's church. The rest of the meetings were power packed and history bears witmess to the fact that this man of god went on to became the pastor of the biggest church of the world with over 10 lakh(as of 2007) in korea.
Be it peter who was afraid to testify about jesus and later when Holy Spirit came on him went on to led 3000 people to christ in a single sermon or Yaul Yonggi Cho whose life stands as an xample to all of us who are cowards and self righteouss. Be it C.H Spurgeon,Wigglesworth,John Wesley,Luther,Benny hinn,Calvin,John Bunyan, or be it you. God can change you from a luke warm, passive, self centered believer into a person who stands for God boldily.I can happen to you when you surrender your life to him and stand in awe of what he can do through you.Who will Stand and Speak For god??? Are you Ready to become an History Maker for GOD

FRUITS OF SPIRIT
Deep within my heart
That I may seek not myself to please
But to others, give and forgive
Give me the fruit of JOY
Deep within my heart
That I may smile in every circumstance
And with joyous strength continues to advance
Give me the fruit of PEACE
Deep within my heart
That I may be still in your presence
And submit my worries to your omniscience
Give me the fruit of PATIENCE
Deep within my heart
That I may understand my neighbor’s imperfection
And bear my burdens with total resignation
Give me the fruit of KINDNESS
Deep within my heart
That I may always be true to you in my life
And submit to your divine will, like a true wife
Give me the fruit of HUMILITY
Deep within my heart
That I may prefer to serve than be served
And let my boastful good work go unobserved
Give me the fruit of SEL CONTROL
Deep within my heart
That I may withhold the emotions of fleshly nature
But rather live by these fruits that you give and nurture

Thorns First, Rose Next

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, “How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom… it died.
——————————
So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.
We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential.
Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them.

Dr. Thelma J. Talloo
Commerce Dept.
Jesus n Mary College
A new Persective to be learned from Noah`s Ark -
One : Don`t miss the Boat.
Two : Remember that we are all in the same Boat.
Three : Be careful to plan ahead. When Noah built the Ark it was`nt raining.
Four: Stay Fit. When you are really Old Someone may ask u to do something really big.
Five: Don`t get bogged down by critics, just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six : Build your future on high ground.
Seven: For safety sake, travel in pairs.
Eight: Speed may not always be an advantage. Snails went on board with Leopards.
Nine : When you feel stressed, take a break, float a while.
Ten : Remember the Ark was built by AMATEURS....Professionals built The Titanic..
Eleven: No matter how bad the storm is, when God is with you there will be
A RAINBOW IN THE END.

Different!
On the way back home, just me and my friend from our gang were left in the metro. She said “Siju, I totally understand what you said. When you are brought up in a certain way, you have to behave according to that. There is a certain decorum that you must follow. People, who don’t know you, think you are some kind of a freak, but that’s the way it is.” I was astounded, such insight from an unexpected quarter!
Friends, accept that you are different and that, you don’t have to necessarily conform to trends all the time.
Rocky Balboa
...But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!...
These are the famous lines from the movie Rocky which I saw again last week. The main protagonist Rocky Balboa is a boxer. When confronted with a bigger and better boxer, he departs from conventional thinking by deciding to take the hits and tire the opponent down. When the opponent was all wearied after 13-14 rounds of sheer hard work in the bout, Rocky turned the tables and beat him to the ground. It was his ability to endure that helped him win. This made me think!
You know, the devil is going to come at you with all the force at his disposal. He’ll try all dirty tricks under his belt to break you. It is when we persevere under such onslaught that we become effective and productive in Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-8) Perseverance implies that no matter how hard you are hit, you keep on moving on. And that is how “winning is done.”

An Experience : What Love is all about?
While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation I asked him if he had a doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease.
As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him. “And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?” He smiled as he patted my hand and said. “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, “That is the kind of love I want in my life.”
——————- ——————- ——————-
True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be. The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way.
Here's what would have happened if you had gone for abortion...
Food for thought!
Counsel
Psalms 33:11 God's counsel never changes it is for all generations the past, present and future. God's word never changes, we as people change. God is no respect of person what he does for one He will do for another. Life my get you down at times but the counsel of God will lift you up.

Story : The Painting of the Son
A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art. When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son. About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands. He said, ‘Sir, you don’t know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.’ The young man held out this package. ‘I know this isn’t much. I’m not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.’ The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. ‘Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It’s a gift.’ The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected. The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection. On the platform sat the painting of the son The auctioneer pounded his gavel. ‘We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?’ There was silence. Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, ‘We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.’ But the auctioneer persisted. ‘Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?’ Another voice angrily. ‘We didn’t come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh’s, the Rembrandt’s. Get on with the real bids!’ But still the auctioneer continued. ‘The son! The son! Who’ll take the son?’ Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. ‘I’ll give $10 for the painting.’ Being a poor man, it was all he could afford. ‘We have $10, who will bid $20?’ ‘Give it to him for $10. Let’s see the masters.’ ‘$10 is the bid, won’t someone bid $20?’ The crowd was becoming angry. They didn’t want the picture of the son. They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections. The auctioneer pounded the gavel. ‘Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!’ A man sitting on the second row shouted, ‘Now let’s get on with the collection!’The auctioneer laid down his gavel. ‘I’m sorry, the auction is over.’ ‘What about the paintings?’ ‘I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything!’ ———– ———– ———– God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: ‘The son, the son, who’ll take the son?’ Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything. “FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE…” |
